Vibrant

One of the three fundamental concepts I use to guide my images both in capturing and editing; vibrant images full of smiles, laughter, love, and life.

When editing, I ensure that the final image feels ‘true to life' as the day that the photo was captured. Often, cameras perceive the world differently than our eyes, which naturally adjust for light and colour without us realizing. The concept of vibrancy is recreating how the day looked in real life with all the gorgeous colours, light, and shadows that truly created your surroundings.

Here are some ‘before & after’ shots:

Natural & beautiful skin tones are my number one priority when capturing and editing images. The first step to any great skin tone will always come from the perfect light, the next step is to edit by adding just the right amount of light and warmth.

Adjusting for bright highlights & deep shadows while keeping colours toned is how I edit my images to look true to life but with POP!

As the sun sets, our eyes automatically adjust to the shadows becoming more blue but the camera does not (check out the blue in the white dresses in the before images). I do my best to represent the warmth we hold in our memories of the setting sun.

Indoor lighting can be trickier than most and it comes to editing to represent what we saw with our adjusted eyes. The above image is an example of a natural light source coming from the windows.

Another example of indoor photography where the light source was entirely artificial. When editing, finding the right balance of warmth to keep skin tones looking their best is my top priority.

When it becomes too dark for the camera, indoor photography with a flash helps keep the the colours perfect with lots of contrast.

There’s just something about black & white images that scream romance! My black & white images have rich contrast and with a tiny pinch of vintage warmth & grain.

Lastly, as I edit I remove unwanted distractions, small scale colour correct (ex. for when the grass reflects green onto your blonde hair or under your nose), blemish removal and much much more! Once your wedding day is complete, I spend countless hours editing to make sure your captured memories are perfect!!
